Your Path to a CDL at CDDT
Getting your CDL doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Everything you need to know to get started, from sign-up to testing. Follow the steps below and our team will guide you through each one.
Step 1: Sign Up
Submit an inquiry form or call our team to discuss your goals, schedule, and program options. Then you'll submit the required enrollment documents. Our team will help confirm your program, schedule, and payment option.
Step 2: DOT Physical & Drug Screen
Complete your required DOT physical and drug screening with an approved provider. (Fees are paid directly to the provider.)
Step 3: Classroom Instruction
Attend in-person classroom sessions to learn CDL rules, safety requirements, and regulations needed for testing and driving.
Step 4: Obtain Your CDL Permit
Pass the written exam to receive your CDL permit and move forward into behind-the-wheel training.
Step 5: Road & Range Training
Practice driving skills on the range and on the road under instructor supervision. This is where hands-on training builds confidence and control.
Step 6: CDL Skills Test
Take the final CDL skills test to earn your commercial driver’s license.
