William "Joey" Sainato

My name is Joey Sainato. I came to Custom Diesel Driver’s Training in late 2022 looking for a new career and a way to improve my life and provide for my family. I was unsure it was the right path for me, but KJ was more than encouraging and he convinced me that it would be the difference I had been searching for. I had a solid job offer a week prior to graduation and I started working less than a week after I left Custom Diesel. My experience with CDDT was exactly what I was looking for and after a couple of years on the road getting experience and some miles under my belt I took KJ’s offer to come work for Custom Diesel and to help grow the school and change lives in the enormously meaningful way it changed mine. KJ told me the day I enrolled back in 2022 when I was in his office uncertain and skeptical “don’t worry, you’re family, you just don’t know it yet.” That turned out to be the truth. Since I came back to CDDT I have been welcomed like a brother. I love getting to sit with the students at the beginning stage of their education and watching their journey from never having touched a truck to successfully completing advanced backing maneuvers and the look of satisfaction on their faces when they graduate and get that CDL and call to tell us that they just got their first trucking job! Being even a small part of changing students’ lives and helping them better their position in life is something I can only get at CDDT and I get to do it in the industry I love and some of the greatest people I’ve ever had the good fortune to know.
